Best Practices for using Sneaky Balm

Remember that it is made to be worn as a tint and apply light layers.
Lock down your skin care routine, and be sure to exfoliate regularly with a chemical exfoliant.
Apply moisturizer beforehand to prime the skin and even out your skin's natural oils.
Set lightly with a translucent powder if you have oily skin and you prefer to keep the shine down throughout the day (if you like a dewy look then feel free to skip!)

The sneakiest skin tint. A soft, dewy finish. Long lasting for a hydrating skin tint type of formula, not long lasting compared to a matte finish liquid foundation, so let's say medium lasting? Medium lasting! They're chock full of nourishing ingredients like pomegranate, jojoba, & grape seed oils, and contain absolutely zero nonsense ingredients like talc, fragrance, or mineral oil.

Packaging

Zero waste. We designed this system to be as good for the planet as it is for your face. We spent months talking to recycling experts, and researching all the ways we could deliver these precious square babies to y'all without compromising our standards. We landed on simple envelopes that are both recyclable and made from post consumer recycled paper. They have a small insert in the front to protect the tints, but don't worry if your pan becomes intimate with the insert and things...get a little messy. It's perfectly normal for the tint to get on the back of the insert and won't affect the quality of your product at all.

Covers relatively well and looks skin like at first but cakes in creases.

I first tried this sneaky balm three years ago and been using ever since. There’s nothing like it. I use it with a brush for all over coverage or for spot concealing on no makeup days. It leaves the most beautiful tint on the skin with no settling or cakiness on my mature skin. If I could only pick one coverage product, it would be this and it’s what I wear most days anyway.

Fantastic Foundation

I chose the lightest color which was perfect. However, I need a little coverage since I have a bit of redness and discoloration, so this didn't really work for me. But it doesn't claim to have coverage so I still give it 5 stars. It looks beautiful on my daughter so I gifted it to her.

Cannot Make This Usable

This is unfortunately the worst makeup product I have tried in years. If the shade isn’t absolutely spot-on, there’s nothing you can do, because you can’t really mix the balm with color corrector. I tried. It feels sticky on my face, like I’m wearing a layer of butter. The cardboard protectors that they put over the pans end up with the product all over them, so even if the product works for you, a bunch of it ends up all over the cover anyway. I just cannot fathom how this is so popular.

Thanks so much for your feedback — we’re really sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations.

Our color adjusters (under our Sneaky Balm line) and our Color Correctors (under our Best Case Concealer line), should both be highly blendable and work well with your Sneaky Balm. However, they are highly pigmented so if you are using a large amount of the Color Corrector in our concealer formula because you want more coverage, you will likely find the pigment in the color corrector will overpower the pigment of your skin tone shade and will result in the thick layer of makeup that you described. We recommend using our products as minimally as possible. Our Sneaky Balm is meant to be used as a skin tint and our Best Case Concealer provides more coverage, but will likely need to be set with powder if you are using is a a more medium coverage full face foundation (rather than a concealer in select locations on the face).

We're sorry to hear that the cardboard protectors did not work for you. They are mean to protect your makeup during transit and then recycled. They are not a permanent container solution for your makeup. All of our makeup formulas are sold as refills and the palettes to hold the product are sold separately.

This is the second time I've ordered Sneaky Balm...

The refills are in recyclable paper packaging which is just lovely. And of course Sneaky Balm is fabulous. I'm 70 and I can't believe how wonderful my skin looks when using sneaky balm. It's just enough and not too much but leaves my skin looking moist and youthful. I'd add a picture but the picture just doesn't show how nice it looks in real life. Well done, Salt New York!
