Best Practices for using Sneaky Balm
- Remember that it is made to be worn as a tint and apply light layers.
- Lock down your skin care routine, and be sure to exfoliate regularly with a chemical exfoliant.
- Apply moisturizer beforehand to prime the skin and even out your skin's natural oils.
- Set lightly with a translucent powder if you have oily skin and you prefer to keep the shine down throughout the day (if you like a dewy look then feel free to skip!)

The sneakiest skin tint. A soft, dewy finish. Long lasting for a hydrating skin tint type of formula, not long lasting compared to a matte finish liquid foundation, so let's say medium lasting? Medium lasting! They're chock full of nourishing ingredients like pomegranate, jojoba, & grape seed oils, and contain absolutely zero nonsense ingredients like talc, fragrance, or mineral oil.

Packaging
Zero waste. We designed this system to be as good for the planet as it is for your face. We spent months talking to recycling experts, and researching all the ways we could deliver these precious square babies to y'all without compromising our standards. We landed on simple envelopes that are both recyclable and made from post consumer recycled paper. They have a small insert in the front to protect the tints, but don't worry if your pan becomes intimate with the insert and things...get a little messy. It's perfectly normal for the tint to get on the back of the insert and won't affect the quality of your product at all.

I really gave it a solid try! It just looks almost flakey on my skin no matter how hydrated it was first or if I used a primer or not. I tried all the things. It just looked splotchy almost. I tried a brush, my fingers, a sponge, a damp sponge. Maybe creams just aren’t right for me. I wasn’t very impressed.
To start off I would say that the product is perfect for someone that tends to not go for foundation like me. It’s hydrating enough and thin enough to truly just feel like skincare. It applies like a thin gel cream. My main gripe is with the colors depicted online. The current swatch photos makes it very hard to tell the undertones of colors as the arms are all piled up on top of each other and there really isn’t a swatch description. I had ordered one shade to find out that it was too light for me in person and the wrong undertone. Wish there was updated swatches with the arms spaced out to prevent homogenization of the colors and natural light. I got N07 and N06 (my closer match being n06 the darker one)
Amazing tint that shows your skin as skin yet covers redness and discoloration. On my second tin and continue to be happy with it. Easy to travel with and lasts all day.
I have to many good points to highlight:
- the shade range blows my mind. As someone who is light - medium and olive undertone I have never found as good a match for my skin tone as easily, and this is after 10 yrs of searching thru drugstore and high end brands. AND on top of that, I've never, ever, been able to use three shades in a row within a brand like I can with Salt. The shade range is just so good and sensible and really matches real skin tones. This point alone would make me suppoprt future endeavors.
- the finish/ coverage is beautiful. It's hard to describe other than my makeup has never looked more beautiful and not-like makeup on the skin. It's def light-medium covering with medium covers that could probably be extended with a good powered but the way it sits on the skin is just so cosmetically elegant. And easy to apply! I find fingers to be the best/ least fussy. Def great for dry skin / normal skin and I would still try it if you had oily skin and play with your skin prep/ powders.
- love the pans. Easy to refill, swap out colors as seasons change to keep a compact kit for travel and also daily use. Recently went on a trip and it was nice to have a palm size pallet with 2 foundation, 2 concealers ( love the concealer, all the same comments except more coverage).
- the price? I don't know how it's possible but this is also the most affordable makeup I've bought in years especially considering the quality.
- basically...I love it. So happy I stumbled upon this brand. I'm obsessed. Ive got the concealer, the blush, the contour and I genuinely feel the all work well together to make a beautiful and easy face of makeup. I haven't been this excited about makeup in years. Thanks Salt Makeup.
This is the coverage product I'd given up looking for. I applied it with my fingers and I feel beautiful in it. It's the actual definition of buildable. You can sheer it out where you want to, build it up slightly where you want to. It isn't a high coverage product, it isn't meant to be that, but it does a wonderful job just gently unifying my skin tone without really looking like I have anything on. Because you can really customize how you apply it, preventing creasing is really easy and even if you get a tiny bit of creasing at first (got just the tiniest amount in one of my smile lines), you can gently tap it out and you are good to go for the rest of your day. It does have a natural, glowy finish but it doesn't look greasy or sweaty. It doesn't feel heavy or sticky or precious at all. I don't feel trapped in my makeup, something I absolutely cannot stand. The color match for me (N13) is spot on, which is really challenging for me to find (I am very very fair and have a cool/neutral undertone and almost all complexion products either look neon pink or neon yellow on me or are way too dark). I'd honestly given up entirely on finding an overall complexion product I really loved but this one is absolutely perfect.
