Packaging
Zero waste. We designed this system to be as good for the planet as it is for your face. We spent months talking to recycling experts, and researching all the ways we could deliver these precious square babies to y'all without compromising our standards. We landed on simple envelopes that are both recyclable and made from post consumer recycled paper. They have a small insert in the front to protect the tints, but don't worry if your pan becomes intimate with the insert and things...get a little messy. It's perfectly normal for the tint to get on the back of the insert and won't affect the quality of your product at all.

I've never been super into makeup, but I love Hannah's fashion commentary. When I saw she worked on a special project, I decided to hear what she had been working on. Hearing her talk about this makeup collaboration suddenly makeup made sense to me. I've never been so excited to try any kind of makeup before, and I wasn't disappointed. My face has some red splotches so covering that up only to add red blush on top always seemed silly. These desaturated tones are beautiful, and I love them. Thank you so much for working so hard on these! It's so nice to finally enjoy putting makeup on at 31 years old.
I am absolutely blown away by the deep quad of the HLP x Salt NY collaboration. Kiki's sensitive eye for color and systemic approach to color inclusivity, along with Hannah's innovative vision, are a match made in heaven. I have never been able to experience a lip color that was so native to my skin, let alone three! These shades are so nuanced and look so d*amn good! Please consider keeling these permanent (especially Corduroy and Cantor) 🙏. We're not above begging or bullying 😊.
I wrote a big long thing, but I got distracted and shifted to something else and when I came back, it was deleted. So I'll make it snappy.... I got the medium quad minus whatever the chocolatey brown version was and switched it out for this based on the few reviews of people with deeper skin tones that I saw. I'm glad I did because I feel like this is giving me the natural but slightly edgy chocolate brown, that I was hoping for. It seems like the other one might be too my skin but better for what I wanted. So far, this is my most used, but I haven't been playing with them for that long. I like the feeling on my lips which is sort of powdery. Unfortunately, I used a medication that thinned my lips in a couple spots, so sometimes I don't like how it looks in those places. So when I feel that way I just mix it with a bit of something more emollient. All in happy with my purchase. The picture I'm including has me barely awake with just water splashed in my face. No make up and just a couple finger swipes of Tenmoku.
This is perfect if you like something you can throw in your bag, and then on your face - it's grungy, easy to work with and just cool. Love it all.
I have similar coloring to HLP but am not quite as pale, more light to light-medium in skin tone. I love brown makeup and wasn’t sure which palette to get so I got a mix based on the colours I was most drawn to: teasel, old gum, aniseed, sebile, corduroy and cantor. I love teasel and old gum on my cheeks. They give me a very healthy, natural flush. It is subtle, but I tend not to wear much cheek makeup otherwise because it usually ends up looking too garish, and these just look like a healthy version of my skin. They are too light to wear on my lips though. For the lips, I love corduroy and cantor. They are beautiful deep neutral rich browns and my old brown lip colours now look so pink/red/berry in comparison. On the lips, the formula feels to me like the type of semi-matte that looks matte/natural but stays creamy (similar to CT matte revolution). Aniseed and sebile work well on me, not too light nor too dark. If I were to pick only one palette, the medium would probably be most versatile since it works on both cheeks and lips on me. But the light palette on the cheeks and the deep palette on the lips both feel more impressive to me than the medium, so if I were to order again, I might get the light palette for cheeks and the three deep colours for lips.
